Rev. William David McGee

Pastor, Evangelist, Preacher, Counselor, Teacher

My husband has been serving the Lord's people for almost forty years as a member of the ordained clergy.  A native of Louisiana, he now makes his home in Winsted, CT, since our marriage twelve years ago.  He has in that time established the mission, JESUS - My Lord and Savior - Church and maintains the church's website   and has also founded his own international men's ministry, Men Walking With God International Ministries  while continuing to minister to churches in both the north and south in missions, revivals, retreats, and pastoral care.

Well trained through the Baptist tradition, his ministry skills and ordination are now recognized within the Congregational system of ministry and fellowship.  I am very blessed, as my husband is a very faith-filled, Spirit-filled, man of God who lives out his Biblical understanding of life and salvation in his ministry, in his family life, and in every aspect of cultural encounter.

Serving in the Viet Nam War, he was a highly decorated Marine, receiving amoung his many awards two Purple Hearts for his outstanding service, bravery, and valor.

Decending from the Cherokee Nation, my husband's ancestors walked the Trail of Tears.  I am proud to be the wife of a valiant Marine, a Native American, and a man of God!!!

Here is a little bit about my husband was on the Eagle Rock Church website before we retired on August 31st of this year.  We served at Eagle Rock from May of 2006 until August of 2013.

Pastor David is presently serving our church as Pastor and Teacher.  His evangelistic spirit ignites the sermons he gives each Sunday morning and his in depth daily personal study bring wisdom, insight, and knowledge to all who are present whenever he teaches.

A native of Louisiana, Pastor David now resides in Winsted, CT with his wife and pastoral team ministry partner, Pastor Lin.  They share sixteen children, thirty-nine grandchildren, ten (soon to be eleven) great grandchildren, five birds, and one dog.

A faith-filled, Spirit-filled, man of God, Pastor David has been serving the Lord's people for almost fourty years as a member of the ordained clergy.  His Biblical understanding of life and salvation are easily seen in his call to ministry, his family life, and every aspect of cultural encounter.

Prior to coming to Eagle Rock, Pastor David founded, pastored, and evangelized many churches in both the north and the south while also leading revivals throughout the United States.  He has served as a prison chaplain, a missionary at the Crow Indian Reservation in Montana, and as a well respected leader among colleagues within various Baptist and Congregational denominations.

At this time, Pastor David is also shepherding a mission church,  co-hosting the weekly preaching series 'A Message From God' that is broadcast over two local TV networks (Cable Channel 13 in Winsted and surrounding towns and Cable Channel 5 in Torrington and surrounding towns), and is the spiritual leader for the faith group he founded, Men Walking With God International Ministries.

He has co-founded with Pastor Lin and serves through 'Faith and Life Ministries International'   And he serves The Fellowship Of Connecticut Congregational Churches on the Missions Committee and on the Youth Committee. The National Association of Congregational Christian Church's Youth Commission has awarded him national recognition for his ministry work with young people two years in a row.

Pastor David is a member of the Board of Directors for the Asian Faith Mission in Kerala, India and the Agape Children's Home in Kerala, India.

Pastor David offers preaching, teaching, counseling, Bible studies, workshops, men's ministries, revivals, and retreats throughout both the northern and the southern states.

Two of Pastor David and Pastor Lin sons are presently serving with the United States military, fighting the War on Terrorism. Both sons are veterans of Operation Enduring Freedom and Operation Iraqi Freedom.  Jim, their older son is a Command Sergeant Major and has served in the Army for twenty-seven years.  He has presently completed three deployments.  Dan, their younger son is a Staff Sergeant and has served in the Marine Corps for eighteen years.  Dan has completed two deployments.

Pastor David himself is a highly decorated Marine who served in the Vietnam War from 1967-1971 with the First Marine Air Wing,  He received among his many awards The Cross of Gallantry and two Purple Hearts for his outstanding service, bravery, and valor.  (please view this website for further information on Purple Hearts:

The American Legion and the Veterans Of Foreign Wars have given him recognition as an honored veteran, and he has been presented with the Connecticut Veterans Wartime Service Medal by the State of Connecticut.    He was also the first wounded hero in Connecticut to receive the Silver Star Banner and Certificate of Honor from the Silver Star Families of America   And in November of 2009 he was nominated for and inducted into the Connecticut Veterans Hall of Fame for the outstanding community and humanitarian service he has given since completing his Marine Corps duties

He is an associate member, a Blue Star Dad, of the Connecticut Blue Star Mothers - CT Chapter One.  in honor of sons Jim and Dan.  Pastor David serves as a Veteran Service Officer and as the Chaplain for the VFW Post # 269 in Winsted, CT, where he and his sons are all lifetime members.  Lifetime memberships with this Post are a family tradition, Pastor David's father-in-law, WWII Navy Seabees veteran, James Funk, having also held lifetime membership until his death.  His wife, Pastor Lin, and his mother-in-law, Norma, are both lifetime members of the Post's Ladies Auxiliary.

To serve the Lord faithfully as he ministers to our military and veteran families, Pastor David is affiliated with Military Ministry  Christian Military Fellowship   and Military Missions Network  If you have any difficulty reaching these ministries or live in the New England area and would like resources from these ministries, please contact Pastor David at any time.
